Abstract

A fast algorithm for the computation of the physical optical back scattering integral is presented. The algorithm employs a multilevel evaluation scheme based on optimal sampling and restoration of partial contributions on grids tailored for near- and far-fields. Reduction of the asymptotic computational complexity by 2 polynomial orders is achieved.
