Abstract
Ex-Soviets in Israel presents and analyzes the personal narrative and expository discourse of immigrants from the former Soviet Union (FSU) in Israel. Starting from the early 1990's, large segments of FSU Jewry have been leaving to the West, thus emulating the liberal policies of perestroika (reconstruction) and glasnost (publicity/transparency). Israel is a central, although not exclusive, destination for this immigration wave and has in the last fifteen years absorbed more than one million people from me FSU.
