Abstract

In view of the possibility of employing Cassini’s experiments
for the diagnosis of Saturn’s rings, a semi-review is given of recent studies of
morphology and dynamics of low and moderately high optical depth regions of
Saturn’s rings with special emphasis on its fine-scale radial structure (irregular
cylindric structures of the order of 100 m or so). We predict that forthcoming
(2004) Cassini spacecraft high-resolution images of Saturn’s rings may reveal
this kind of radial structure.
