Abstract
We present results of quantum calculations for the photofragment angular distributions of linear triatomic molecules. Deviations from axial recoil are predicted and explained (even for high energy dissociations) when (a) the diatomic fragment rotational angular momentum differs from the initial total angular momentum of the triatomic, and when (b) the initial triatomic bending degrees of freedom are excited.
