Abstract

This report relates to burns of the feet suffered by a pilgrim to Mecca who walked barefoot in the hot desert sun. He subsequently presented with full-thickness burn injuries to the soles of his feet. When the patient developed acute coronary insufficiency, immediate surgery could not be performed. He was therefore treated conservatively with salicylic acid and Silverol cream. Spontaneous closure of the wound was achieved in the course of 2 months.
