Abstract
A description is presented of GCI, which is a Unix-based tool for developing interactive CAD programs. By separating command/menu definitions from the program, GCI makes it easier to change and extend the user interface. By combining static hierarchical structure in command language definition and dynamic program control, GCI achieves the power and flexibility needed for a general tool.
