Abstract
Three different models with constant chord-to-thickness ratios were used in this experimental study. The inspiration of the study is the Storebælt Bridge and it is one of the models tested. Both pressure measurements and PIV measurements were performed on the models in a wind tunnel at a Reynolds number of 3x10 4. The symmetric models provide a means for initial examinations into the effect of leading edge geometry on the shedding frequency of these elongated bluff bodies. The asymmetry of the Storebælt model reveals interesting differences in vortex structure between the upper and lower surfaces.
