Abstract

Gustave Planchon (1833-1900), French physician, pharmacist, and botanist,
promoter of the teaching of pharmacy in France, carried on research in zoology, botany, geobotany, phytopaleontology, plant physiology, drugs, and history of pharmacy. His main publications were related to the globularias, quinquinas, Strychnos, and a detailed description of the structure of the different organs of plants and trees.
