Abstract

The half-life of ¹⁷⁶Lu has been measured using gamma-ray spectrometry, and was found to be (3.677±0.075)×10¹⁰ yr. The measurement geometry eliminated losses of counts due to true coincidence summing. Gamma attenuation in the sample and its container was corrected for. Agreement with previous results is discussed.
