Abstract

Gilman, Pumplin, Schwimmer and Stodolsky have recently proposed that Pomeron exchange terms conserve s-channel helicities. If the Pomeron is dual to s-channel background, it follows that s-channel helicity-flip amplitudes are dominated by resonances. A test of this assertion in the case of πN scattering indicates agreement with experiment.
