Abstract

In the design of large sandwich radomes, scattering effects from the seams play an important role. To obtain a high performance radome, one should consider both reducing the scattering from the individual seams and optimizing the seam geometry. The data presented shows that dual band tuning of the seams is feasible. The presented results also show how an increase in the 'geometrical randomness' makes the scattering effect from the seams more uniform.
