High prebure behaviour of Mn3GaC

Abstract

Results of x-ray powder diffraction measurements up to 35 GPa carried out on the Mn intermetallics, Mn3GaC, are presented. Mn3GaC does not under go any structural transition in this prebure region. The prebure-volume data fitted to third order Birch Murnaghan equation of state yield values of bulk modulus and its prebure derivative as 140.5 GPa and 3.34 respectively.
