Abstract
A study was carried out to compare the catalytic activity of NiMoO//4, NiWO//4, CoMoO//4 and CoWO//4 obtained by coprecipitation and roasted at 823 degree K in the hydrogenation of o-xylene containing thiophene. After sulfidization the hydrogenation activity (HA) of these compounds forms the following series: NiMoO//4 greater than NiWO//4 approximately more than CoMoO//4 greater than CoWO//4. The maximum HA of the coprecipitated system is obtained for Ni/Mo equals 1 and Ni/W equals 2 (atomic ratios). A study was carried out on the effect of prior treatment in the air and in hydrogen and the sulfidization conditions on the hydrogenation activity.
