Abstract

Implementation of a next generation tunable transceiver for optical burst- and packet-switching applications was discussed. The transmitter is widely tunnable over the entire C-band supporting up to 200 wavelengths. Results showed a tuning time of less than 50 ns between any-to-any out of a set of 80×80 possible wavelengths within 50 GHz spacing configuration.
