Abstract

Just like in the industry, applying total quality management (TQM) in the educational setting has a similar challenge of creating a process that empowers students to be responsible for what they learn. Some observers think it is more difficult to apply TQM principles to the university classroom than in an industry setting. Nevertheless, studies show that several schools are now implementing TQM principles in such areas as student services and campus life.
