Abstract

Peer-to-Peer (P2P) technology has attracted millions of users, and many new commercial solutions are entering this market. Streaming media distribution based on P2P is one of main application. In this paper, we focus on improvement of QoS and decrease client start-up delay for P2P streaming media system. A peer selection strategy based on mobile agent and super selection based on trust are proposed. The present methods are compared with bandwidth first peer selection strategy, and the experimental results show that the proposed strategies have got a high QoS and low start-up delay. The goal and contribution of this paper is to provide a scalable, robust and reliable peer selection strategy to ensure QoS for P2P streaming media system.
