Abstract

Different media for in vitro germination of pineapple hybrid seeds were tested. They had been obtained from a genetic improvement programme carried out in Ciego de Avila. The germination dynamics, conversion percentage, and the plantlet fresh weight were analyzed. The distilled water and salts + MS vitamin media were more advisable in the analyzed characters. Callus formation from hybrid embryos was observed with NAA (lmgL-1).
