Abstract

The effects of clay counterion type on complex conductivities of shaly sands were studied for the Na+, Li+, K+, Ca++ and (C2H5)4N+ ions. The results are treated in terms of the Waxman-Smits in-phase conductivity equation and a new relation describing the quadrature conductivity.
