Abstract

A three-stage background subtraction protocol has been developed for the estimation of the dose relsponse of peaks 7 and 8 in the glow curve of LiF:Mg,Ti (TLD-100). The results indicate a dependence on dose of the background above dose levels of ∼200 mGy due probably to the appearance of even higher temperature glow peaks and also demonstrate that peak 8 should be excluded from the high temperature thermoluminescence signal due to the great variability of its behavior.
