Influence of Swarm Connectivity on l-best PSO Performance

Abstract

Particles’ connections fullness in a swarm and its influence on l-best PSOs’ are the issues of the study. The difference between g-best and l-best is given. A general algorithm RSTCJ/K-PSO with variable level of particles’ connectivity is described. Based on the bunch of benchmarks the study of l-best PSOs’ performance is carried out. The influence of local paricles’ neighborhood and their arrangement are studied. Some practical recommendations are given to find the reasonable level of particles’ connectivity.
