Intensification of Polydisperse Materials Separation Process

    Abstract

In recent years an indubitable progress has been made in the development of separators for powder fractionating. The development of new types of cascade separators significantly improves the quality of final fractionation products. Consumed material concentration in all types of cascade separators does not exceed, as a rule, two kilograms of solid phase per a cubic meter of air flow. Therefore, to attain high productivities, considerable investments are needed, because for this purpose several apparatuses operating in parallel or apparatuses of large overall sizes are required. Special researches have shown the possibility of increasing the solid phase consumed concentration in a cascade apparatus up to 6.25 kg/m3 using a special attachment without altering the separation efficiency.
