Abstract
CeCo2-Co diffusion couples were used to study the kinetics of growth of intermediate layers in the 750-950 °C temperature interval. Four layers, identified as CeCo3, Ce2Co7, CeCo5 and Ce2Co17, were observed to appear in the diffusion zone. The rate of growth of the CeCo5 layer is by far the highest. The experimental results are treated in terms of the integrated diffusion coefficients.
