Abstract

The classi cal Stefan formulation of the phase–change heat transfer is reexamined.
Thermodynami cally consistent interface boundary conditions, that account for various pressure–transition temperature effects, and for departure from equilibrium at the phase–change front a re pre–sented. Several tractable planar sol idication problems, exibiting within the Stefan setup singularities of the inter–face velocity and a C Celera ti On, are di S–
cussed.
