Abstract

In this chapter, we study the intersections and the sums of Orlicz spaces. In particular, for every pair of mutually conjugate Orlicz functions Φ and ψ, the Orlicz spaces (L_Φ∩L_∞, L_ψ+L₁) and (L_Φ+L_∞, L_ψ∩L₁) are described. In particular, the spaces L_p + L_q and L_p ∩ L_q, 1 ≤ p, q≤∞, are considered in greater detail.
