Abstract

Analysis of positioning system accuracy undertaken using the theory of random processes and applied to a contour grinder Model MA396F3, makes it possible to obtain a refined evaluation of grinding errors, and to reveal error sources and their effect on the resulting accuracy. The effect of leadscrew manufacturing errors on table positioning accuracy and on the accuracy of the produced contour is shown. Recommendations for identifying causes of machining errors are given.
