Abstract

Partition of citric acid, 2-butanol and water between the aqueous and alcoholic phases is reported. Distribution of citric acid is expressed in terms of, H₃Cit (2-BuOH)₅, complex formation in the organic phase. Detailed thermodynamic analysis of the investigated system is presented.
