Abstract

The long term electrical activity of neuronal networks with different sizes was investigated. The neuronal networks, grown on lithographically prepared substrates, exhibited scale-invariant Levy distributions and long-range correlations. The network dynamics were characterized by using the time sequences of synchronized bursting events. The different-size networks were found to self-organize and adjust to their activities over many time-scales.
