Abstract
A case of prolonged survival with hypernephroma is presented. 11 years after primary tumor resection, a local recurrence occurred. No further operative procedure was undertaken. The patient survived nevertheless 11 more years. This prolonged survival with recurrence and metastases is most unusual, and further demonstrates a 'benign' behavior of this malignant tumor.
