Abstract
The experimental data of the magnetic dipole moments of low-lying states in odd-odd [Formula Presented] nuclei, which has increased recently by a factor of 2, are revisited within the simple shell model, taking the wave functions to be of the form [Formula Presented] Good agreement with the updated experimental data is obtained within the [Formula Presented]-coupling scheme [Formula Presented] using the Schmidt values for the [Formula Presented] factor and also by using effective [Formula Presented] factor deduced from nearby odd-[Formula Presented] nuclei. We have also carried out a calculation of μ within the [Formula Presented]-coupling scheme [Formula Presented] and also obtained good agreement with data. The success of these simple models in reproducing the experimental data is discussed.
