Abstract

The authors investigated the magnetic properties of the ferromagnet CuRb//2Cl//2:2H//2O which differed from CuRb//2Br:2H//2O only by the halogen, and they used hydrostatic pressures to vary the unit-cell parameters. The results of the measurements showed that the replacement of Br with Cl not only reduced the Curie temperature, but also altered the orientation of the magnetization vector in the magnetically ordered state from the easy-axis direction to the basal plane.
