Abstract

The powder magnetoelectric susceptibilities and specific heat of MnGeO3 were studied. The Néel temperature is 10.9 ± 0.1°K. The two non-zero ME susceptibility tensor elements are α12 = -α21 = (15 ± 1) × 10-7. The majority of the magnetic entropy is removed above TN.
