Abstract

The quantum statistics of stimulated photoassociation were studied. It was found that when a large number of material degrees of freedom are coupled to a single mode field, the entropy of the radiation field increases, thus, compensating for the decrease in matter entropy due to photoassociation. Analysis revealed that stimulated photoassociation is complementary to spontaneous emission.
