Abstract

Mechanical activation of pentabromobenzyl acrylate (PBB-MA) polymerization and the role of inorganic filler Mg(OH)2 in this process were studied. The grafting of a polymer on to the filler surface was proved. These phenomena were studied using X-ray, FTIR and thermal analyses. It was shown that the conversion degree of the monomer passes through a maximum during mechanically influenced polymerization, and an addition of inorganic filler increases the maximum conversion degree.
