Abstract

Energy transfer via dipole-dipole mechanism in a system of identical ions, Ho**3** plus doped tellurite glasses or UO//2**2** plus in borosilicate glasses, and a donor acceptor system were analyzed. The decay curves of Ho**3** plus in tellurite exhibits non-exponential dependence at shorter times and an exponential decay at longer times. The experimental results prove that miltipolar energy transfer occurs in a three-dimensional system, and this behavior is different from fractal behavior in porous glasses.
