Abstract

We develop a general engineering approach that allows predicting the characteristic parameters of different objects using the known (e.g., from experiments) characteristic parameters of several objects. The suggested method can be applied when the complete model for determining the characteristics of these objects using commonly accepted methods is not available. We illustrate the application of this method in the case when an object is a penetrating impactor and the characteristic parameter is the depth of penetration.
