MHD bluff body turbulent wake stabilization

Abstract

A possible mechanism of the stabilization of the turbulent wake behind a bluff body in the presence of an external magnetic field is discussed. A special role is attributed to the mechanism of energy exchange between the mean flow and the turbulent fluctuations by means of inertial waves.
