Abstract

The effect of the following basic parameters on SO2 absorption in reactor with coaxial cylinders and impinging streams was investigated: composition of the flue gas, type of the spray nozzle as well as the type of the sorbents. The major results were: (a) Spray nozzles of external mixing of the phases are superior. (b) For the sorbents Ca(OH)2 or Mg(OH)2, the desulfurization efficiency may reach 94-96%.
