Abstract
Previously developed multi-phase model, of ion-exchange spacer is modified for a sparse spacer so as to take into account the inter-filament resistance of the electrolyte solution. The modified model is analyzed for the low and limiting current limits and solved numerically for the intermediate current range, revealing the smearing effect of the inter-filament resistance.
