Abstract

The M + (combining low line)ultiC + (combining low line)arrier M + (combining low line)odulation (MCM) system with a multistage encoding/decoding scheme based on repetition and erasures-correcting decoding of block codes applied for a Nakagami fading channel is considered. B + (combining low line)it E + (combining low line)rror R + (combining low line)ate (BER) as a function of S + (combining low line)ignal-to-N + (combining low line)oise R (combining low line)(combining low line)atio (SNR) has been found to agree well with the simulated results. It is shown that for low SNR the proposed system has a lower BER than both the MCM with F + (combining low line)orward E + (combining low line)rror C + (combining low line)orrection (FEC) and MCM with optimal diversity reception and FEC.
