Abstract
We present a method of multipassing a pulse of light through an amplifier using an optical circulator, a nonreciprocal component composed of polarization beam splitters, and a Faraday rotator. The pulse can be double, triple, or quadruple passed through the amplifier depending upon the arrangement of the optical circulator. Numerical calculations and experimental results for multipass amplifiers are presented.
