Abstract
Points arising from an earlier paper by Livingstone are discussed, including the role of vegetation in the formation of linear dunes and the influence of wind-flow patterns on these features. Particular attention is paid to the results of recent simulation studies which have elucidated the flow diversion phenomenon on the lee slope of a seif dune. -D.G.Price
