Abstract

Background: New-onset atrial fibrillation (NOAF) during acute myocardial infarction (AMI) has significant prognostic and therapeutic consequences. However, NOAF that occurs early and is of relatively short duration following AMI was reported to be associated with more benign prognosis. Data regarding the incidence and predictors of NOAF according to its onset and duration are scarce. Objectives: To evaluate the incidence and clinical characteristics of early (EAF) vs. late (LAF) NOAF among patients admitted with AMI.
