Abstract
The precision measurement of the cross section of the 3He( 4He, γ) 7Be reaction, which was determined by the ensuing 7Be activity, was described. A 7Be activity precision measurement of the cross section was initiated at energies around 420-950 keV using a 3He beam and a 4He gas target with a Ni-foil window. To examine the issue of the absolute scale of various measurements, a χ2 compatibility analysis was carried out between the values of astrophysical S(E) factor. The results show that S 34(0) provided accurate and reliable input for the standard big bang nucleosynthesis (SBBN) simulations.
