Abstract

The activity of nitrate reductase in tomato fruits (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill.) grown in vivo and in vitro was similar throughout development. Enzyme activity was directly correlated with fruit size. As has been shown in vivo, nitrate reductase activity was also inducible in fruits grown in vitro.
