Abstract
Noël-Etienne Henry (1769-1832), a French pharmacist, who most of his life was in
charge of the Central Pharmacy of the Parisian hospitals, worked mainly in the areas of extractive chemistry and food chemistry. He carried on a detailed qualitative analysis of the composition and active principle present in, canella, castor oil, fedegoso, gentian, ipecacuanha, mistletoe, nutmeg, paratodo, rhubarb, saffron, vetiver, wheat weevil, etc.
