Abstract

The relative current noise spectra of typical commercial indicator lamps that are sensitive as detectors of electromagnetic radiation are illustrated and analysed. Their dependence on multiplication processes within the gas is calculated, and implications regarding ion energy distribution and video frequency response are suggested.
