Abstract
Pretreatment with a methanol insoluble moiety of BCG organisms, previously shown capable of heightening the resistance of experimental animals to tumor isografts and to spontaneous tumor development, markedly stimulated the subsequent immune response of mice to allogeneic cells and facilitated the development of delayed hypersensitivity of guinea pigs to an unrelated and otherwise non-immunogenic hapten-protein conjugate.
