Ns in-fiber modulator by dynamic Bragg grating

Abstract

Dynamic Bragg grating in passive silica fibers is demonstrated. These gratings are generated by transverse illumination of 800 nm femtosecond pulses through a phase mask, producing short ns pulses in reflection.
