Abstract

The paper presents a procedure for the numerical simulation of an electric drive system with a permanent magnet synchronous motor. The drive system consists also of a PWM power electronic driver, and a controller. The simulations are performed for both continuous, and discrete control operation. The discrete control contains an incremental digital controller for the measurement of the motor rotation angle. The PWM driver can be reduced to a basic functional block to speed the simulation process, but without affecting the simulation results.
