Abstract

The field functions of the U(1) × SU(2) unified gauge field theory of the electromagnetic and the weak interactions are shown to have an invariance property under the group O(4). This invariance of the field variables has not been explored so far and can be used, like other invariance principles, as a valuable guide in further developments of unification theories.
